Gas stations commonly put pre-authorization hold amounts against your debit card when paying at the pump. We have been recently made aware that gas stations have increased the amount of these holds, which typically fall off within 2-3 business days. 

These preauthorization holds are not set by Andover Bank. However, you can avoid these holds when paying at the pump by selecting the “credit” option instead of “debit” when using your card. You can also avoid a hold by paying inside the gas station as well.
